| Westside Elementary School is set in the growing town of Demopolis, Alabama. With an enrollment of 600+ students and a staff of over 50 teachers and support personnel, Westside strives to provide an excellent education to students in Kindergarten through Second grade. The school also provides a program for children with special needs as well as a pre-kindergarten program named "The Fabulous Fours". Westide participates in the Accelerated Reader Program and is a Renaissance Reading school. They received the Golden Apple Award in 2005-2006 for having 100% teacher participation in the Parent-Teacher Association. The school offers a large lunchroom with stage, a gymnasium, computer labs, computers in each classroom, a well-equipped library, and a spacious playground. The 21st Century Extended Day Program is offered in cooperation with Community Education for children in need of an after-school program
